The Great Hall: A Versatile Heart of the Home

What many might consider a traditional living room, Jennifer and her family lovingly call the Great Hall. This vast, sunlit space is defined by multiple seating areas that invite relaxation and connection. Yet, it remains remarkably flexible, capable of transforming into an elegant venue for dinners, charity events, and lively family celebrations. Expansive windows flood the room with natural light throughout the day, but it is at sunset when the space truly shines. The view of the infinity pool mirroring the sky paints a serene backdrop that enhances the sense of calm and togetherness.

Jennifer’s design approach here balances refinement with warmth. The Great Hall is anchored by a pair of vintage French cabinets that are original to the home, offering a nod to its history. The sitting area, layered with soft textures and a warm neutral palette, invites comfort and livability, avoiding any hint of formality. Carefully curated furnishings from Best Home Furnishings, Lulu and Georgia, and Bassett Mirror Company lend a contemporary yet cozy vibe, making this room a favorite retreat for the family.

Reimagining the Kitchen and Dining Spaces

The kitchen and formal dining room are the beating culinary heart of the home, spaces Jennifer has transformed with both style and function in mind. As a chef and mother of six, she prioritized a kitchen that could meet the demands of her busy family while also serving as a stunning backdrop for entertaining. The kitchen makeover embraced the home’s original architectural charm, including the iconic arched stone alcove that houses the Viking range. This Old World feature, reminiscent of a castle hearth, instantly captivated Jennifer and her family when they first toured the property.

To soften the original dark flagstone, Jennifer collaborated with Tim Baitinger of Baitinger Studios, who resurfaced the stone to a lighter, warmer hue. The kitchen island was reconfigured to better suit daily life, while thoughtful choices in natural stone, lighting, and hardware layered together to create a cohesive, inviting space. The Viking range itself, with its grill and griddle, is perfectly suited for serious cooking and entertaining, reflecting Jennifer’s professional expertise and love for hospitality.

Personal Touches and Artistic Flair Throughout the Home

Throughout the six-bedroom estate, Jennifer has woven personal stories and artistic elements that bring warmth and character to each room. In the Great Hall, a glossy Baldwin piano takes center stage, while a gallery wall of culinary memorabilia showcases cherished moments from Jennifer’s celebrated career. Built-in shelves display treasured objects and travel finds, creating a curated, collected feel that elevates the home’s narrative.

The formal dining room, one of the few areas fully transformed with the help of artist J. Hunter, features walls and wainscoting painted in Sherwin-Williams Urbane Bronze. This moody, enveloping color adds a modern edge while keeping the atmosphere intimate and inviting. A standout Arteriors Home case piece adds both function and artistry, housing special collections and heirlooms that tell stories beyond the dinner table.

Jennifer’s guiding principle has been to fill the home only with items she adores—pieces that carry meaning, history, and life. This intention is evident in the small European vessels and decorative objects that pepper the rooms, each adding to the refined yet approachable ambiance. Books on design, entertaining, and travel further personalize the spaces, ensuring every corner feels authentic rather than purely ornamental.

Bedrooms Designed for Calm and Drama

The bedrooms offer a striking contrast between restful serenity and bold statement. Jennifer and her husband’s suite showcases 12-foot ceilings that amplify the room’s regal ambiance. The custom bed frame, with its sculptural headboard, anchors the space with a blend of softness and visual intrigue. Dramatic drapes and carefully chosen lighting fixtures enhance the verticality, making the room feel both grand and intimate.

Another bedroom suite favors a more subdued approach, using a warm, muted palette to create a peaceful retreat. A cozy sitting area and fireplace add to the comfort, while the bed’s placement in a bay window invites natural light from every angle. These thoughtful design choices allow the bedrooms to feel like personal sanctuaries, perfectly balancing scale, comfort, and style.

The Hidden Gem: A Wine Cellar with Character

Among the home’s many special spaces is a wine cellar tucked away behind a hidden staircase. Stone-clad and atmospheric, this cellar stands out as both a functional storage space and a unique venue for intimate dining experiences. Jennifer’s culinary expertise shines through in the cellar’s design, which complements the home’s old-world vibe while providing a cozy setting for wine tasting and entertaining.

Outdoors, an alfresco dining area overlooking the infinity pool offers yet another place to savor meals with family and friends. These versatile dining spaces reflect Jennifer’s belief that the environment should match the cuisine, creating memorable moments whether indoors or under the open sky.
